Charlottesville, VA (247sports.com): Virginia Basketball, now under head coach Ryan Odom, has landed the big man they are looking for.  Per Jacquie Franciulli of Wahoos247, Odom has earned a commitment from one of Basketball Bundesliga’s brightest young stars, 19-year-old Rasta Vechta center Johan Grünloh.   The 6’11” Grünloh has played for the Vechta First Team for 33 games this year after completing the last of his secondary school last season.   In those 33 games, he is averaging 8.5 points, 1.8 blocks, and 5.5 rebounds per game.  He shines as a shooter however, fitting Odom’s vision like a glove.  Grünloh’s 47.6% field goal percentage, and 35.4% three-point percentage, are a game changer for a player of his size.   Virginia’s new team continues to take shape, and Grünloh is not only the player hailing from Europe who will feature for the new Cavaliers, as Martin Carrere, a 6’8″ forward from France, will see action following a red-shirt year at VCU.
