Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com):A burgeoning run in the ACC tournament for the #8 Virginia Women’s Lacrosse team came to an end yesterday after a 17-7 defeat to #2 Boston College.  The game started out well for the Hoos looking to keep it close, with both squads trading blows for the first six goals of the game, and minutes in, the score was 3-3.   A conversion from Addi Foster and an incredible goal from Nicole Cruthirds storming from the Virginia goal to tie the game up lit the fire for the UVA fans in attendance.   Unfortunately, Virginia would only get one goal with 11:30 left in the 2nd quarter until the end of the third.  Boston College scored 11 in that stretch to take a commanding lead, that they would not relinquish.  The Eagles powered through the fourth to score three more and put the game out of reach by the time the final whistle blew.  The Hoos’ destiny now lies with the selection committee, the selection will commence on May 4th in advance of the NCAA tournament.
