TALLAHASSEE, FL (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The University of Virginia baseball team and personnel are safe away from the campus where an active shooter situation occurred shortly after noon Thursday on the Florida State University. CBS Miami reports the shooter is in custody after being shot by police, and the situation now is secured. One student describes hearing a series of about a dozen shots near the Student Union, a pause, then about another 15 shots. Hoos baseball wasn’t scheduled until 7pm and that game, according to Virginia Athletics, is cancelled as all FSU Athletics home events through Sunday. WINA’s Adam Hawes with the team says they were at the hotel about 5-to-10 minutes away. In fact, he didn’t know anything was happening until around 1pm.

CBS News is updating the story from Tallahassee, and NewsRadio WINA is running those updates and will also update the situation with the Hoos team here on CvilleRightNow.com as the situation continues.
