BATESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Two people were able to escape a fire that gutted their mobile home early this (Thursday) morning on Gibson Hollow Lane near Taylor’s Mountain in Albemarle County. Career and volunteers Albemarle firefighters responded around 12:30am to the 800 block of Gibson Hollow and arrived nine minutes after dispatch to find the fully engulfed single-story mobile home. The fire also ignited an outbuilding and some nearby woods. The Virginia Department of Forestry assisted in containing the spread of the fire into the woods.

Two adult residents were able to escape and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The home and outbuilding full of equipment are total losses, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
