Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On this segment of Civil Right Now Live, Taylor Strauss, Executive Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UVA, was welcomed to discuss a growing partnership with The Center at Belvedere. The collaboration focuses on expanding lifelong learning opportunities for adults in the Charlottesville area through engaging lectures and accessible programming. “We offer courses of all lengths…it’s all absolutely for the level of learning and keeping your mind engaged,” Strauss said.

The collaboration with The Center introduces a fresh lecture series with local historian Rick Britton, hosted at The Center and accompanied by the famous Michie Tavern lunch. “This partnership we’re really excited about is new this semester,” said Strauss. “We’re both just encouraging all of our members and community to register for these really great opportunities.”

Strauss emphasized OLLI’s open and inclusive nature. “You do not need…to fulfill any prerequisites. Just show up with an open mind and learn,” she said. With topics spanning history, arts, science, and literature, OLLI provides an enriching, pressure-free environment for community members to continue learning well into adulthood. More information and class registration is available at https://www.olliuva.org/.
