ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA –(CVILLERIGHTNOW.COM) – If you typically cast your ballot at the Hillsdale Conference Center in Albemarle County’s Branchlands Precinct, you might have a new polling location soon. The Hillsdale Conference Center has told the county it can no longer host elections. After looking into options for a new location, the Albemarle County Electoral Board is recommending moving the Branchlands polling site to Harvest Church of God at 1025 Rio Road East in the Rio Magisterial District.
According to election officials, Harvest Church of God meets all necessary state code requirements and is conveniently accessible for voters in the precinct.
Before the change becomes official for the June 17, 2025 primary election, the county wants feedback. A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in Lane Auditorium of the County Office Building.
If you can’t attend the hearing in person, you can give feedback online by submitting comments here.
