Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): After a storybook season for the Virginia Women’s Swimming and Diving team, two of its stars have been named as finalists for a prestigious national sporting award presented by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards.
For nearly 50 years, The Honda Sport Award has been given as a distinction toward the best Female athletes across 12 sports in the NCAA. The four finalists in 2025 were all swimmers, and three came from the ACC. Jillian Cox from Texas Swim & Dive, and Miami diver Chiara Pellacani were joined by Virginia swimmers Claire Curzan and Gretchen Walsh.
Second year Curzan won individual NCAA titles in the 100 and 200 Backstroke and has been a member of several successful relay teams. Walsh, in the final season of her storied Virginia career, won seven individual titles. She is a three-time finalist for the Honda Award.
The award will be presented on the 30th of June on CBS sports network.
