Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): The Cavaliers’ offense is well and truly alive, and what is more, they are well. In an 11-run drubbing of the William and Mary Tribe at Disharoon park yesterday, the Hoos finished up a short day at the office in seven innings, 15-4. Thanks in part to a huge offensive day for their leadoff man, Eric Becker (3-3 with 4 RBIs), along with three hit days from Jacob Ferrence and Harrison Didawick the Tribe were dispatched with relative ease in advance of Virginia’s first conference series this weekend against Boston College. The Cavaliers put up five runs in the second, and ten more in the third to put the game out of reach quickly. Evan Blanco also made his second start of the year, continuing working his back to form and join the starting rotation in some capacity. The Boston College series will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday and can be heard on Newsradio WINA beginning at 3:45 PM for pre-game coverage.
