CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UPDATED 1:30PM TO INCLUDE CAT STATEMENT: Albemarle Police say the CAT bus that crashed into a home in the 2500 block of Barracks Road hit three other vehicles before going into the house. Police have released more information saying the call came in to police and fire at 8:33 Tuesday morning. After officers and EMS arrived, the homeowner and the bus driver were both transported to UVA with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation, and a CAT statement says safety is their top priority and they’re cooperating to the fullest extent.

Albemarle Police are at the scene of a CAT bus that has driven into a house at Georgetown and Barracks roads. There’s no further information at this time, but the bus has driven nearly half its length into the front of the house, just to the left of a front porch entryway and into either a front bedroom or living area. No word on injuries or if anyone was home at the time.

While the incident itself is not on the roadway, Albemarle Police advise to expect delays in the area, and there could be intermittent lane closures.
