WAYNESBORO, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – GoFundMe accounts have been set up for two victims of the Tuesday, February 25, crash in Waynesboro that killed a woman and injured two girls.

Brittany Jean Comer, 31, of Waynesboro, was driving one of two vehicles that collided at the intersection of Hopeman Parkway and Evershire Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene, with two young girls whom she was taking to school, one of them her cousin, transported to UVA Health with serious injuries.

The second driver, 31-year-old Brianca E. Estes of Waynesboro, was taken to Augusta Health in Fishersville for non-life-threatening injuries. Her passenger was also transported to UVA Health. Estes has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and is being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail without Bond.

Comer’s sister, Christina Snow, has set up a GoFundMe account to help Michael Brown, Comer’s long-time boyfriend, and the couple’s daughters survive the emotional and financial challenges they face.

A second account has been set up for Karter Dobson, one of the girls taken to UVA Hospital. She suffered bruised lungs, a lacerated spleen, a punctured lung and a broken arm and leg which, combined, required 3 hours of surgery. Money raised for will help her mother, who will have to miss at least six weeks of work taking care of Karter.

The goal for the Brittany Jean Comer account is to raise $6,000. The account for Karter Dobson has been set up to raise $5,000.
