Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): Virginia Basketball, for the first time in a long time, is in danger of missing out on ACC tournament play.  The season certainly has twists left, four games remain for Ron Sanchez and his men.  Wake Forest, #13 Clemson, Florida State, and Syracuse await in between now and March the eighth.  Wake Forest, sitting fifth in the standings currently at 11-5 in conference play, and coming off an 85-73 defeat at the hands of NC State, will be tonight’s opponents on the road.  Virginia, in 12th currently, is 6-10.  15 teams will make the conference tournament.  Currently, 9th through 15th (Pitt and Syracuse) are separated by just two games.   Virginia faces Syracuse and Florida State (10th) likely with their seed in the balance in the coming days.  All that can be done now is to take what is about to come one game at a time.  For tonight, while Virginia tangles with the Demon Deacons, Syracuse battles NC State, giving the Wolfpack a chance to knock them off the bubble, California will battle SMU with a chance to climb the standings with a win, and Notre Dame, Clemson, Boston College, and Stanford will play with little ramifications beyond seedings at the top.   Coming off a defeat against UNC 81-66 last time out, Virginia must find a way in Winston-Salem.  Tip-off on the Virginia Sports Radio Network will begin at 9:00 PM tonight.
