CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On Saturday, the Cavalier Men’s Basketball team entered the Dean Smith Athletic Center to take on North Carolina with the hope of derailing Carolina’s NCAA hopes. Well, from the very beginning of the game UNC left little doubt that they were focused and played with the urgency of a team trying to reach the NCAA tournament. They opened the game on a 21-2 run and even though Virginia had multiple rallies to get within 8 points of the Heels, the poor start was too much to overcome, and the Hoos dropped another ACC road contest 81-66 to North Carolina. With the loss Virginia falls to 13-14 overall and 6-10 in the ACC. Afterwards Head Coach Ron Sanchez spoke to Jimmy Miller on WINA and the Virginia Sports Radio Network:
Isaac McNeely led Virginia with 17 points and 4 rebounds and also spoke with Virginia Sports Radio Network Analyst Jimmy Miller:
Up next, UVA travels to Wake Forest to take on the Deacs at 9p.m. with coverage on the WINA Virginia Sports Radio Network at 8p.m.
