CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – In the works for some 7 years, UVA Health next month starts an orthopedic acute injury after-hours clinic at the Ivy Road orthopedics center. UVA Health orthopedics chair Dr. Bobby Chhabra tells Morning News this clinic will run 5PM-to-8:30pm Mondays-through-Thursdays and Saturdays from 9AM-to-12:30PM. They’ll have imaging, x-rays, splinting, sutures for minor lacerations, as well as follow-up care. Dr. Chhabra says this avoids long wait times you find at area emergency rooms.
