Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): The Virginia Women have broken records and taken on all comers throughout the season. They headed to Greensboro yesterday to begin competition for the ACC title, and it did not take long to set yet another eye-popping mark in the 800-freestyle relay. The Walsh sisters, Alex and Gretchen, members of the 2024 USA swimming Olympic team, Claire Curzan, and Aimee Canny won the relay in stunning fashion, setting a mark of 6:44.13, an NCAA, US Open, ACC and UVA record. Virginia now holds the NCAA record in all five relay races at the event, the first time the Hoos have held all five since 2019. If the meets throughout the regular season are any indication, only one day into the racing, there will be plenty more incredible victories where this one came from. After all, the action runs through Saturday.
