VERONA, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Blue Ridge Area Food Bank CEO Michael McKee has announced he’ll be retiring this summer. After 15 years with the Verona-based organization that serves the Charlottesville and Shenandoah Valley areas, McKee will end his service at the end of the food bank’s 2025 fiscal year June 30. He joined the organization his first 3 years with planning and development and has served the last dozen as CEO.
A Food Bank release says “under his leadership, the Food Bank has improved food distribution and nutritional quality, with a greater focus on fresh produce.”
“He has driven substantial investments in capacity building and capability development to support partner organizations and has championed innovative programs to combat food insecurity.”
