CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Charlottesville Police arrested an 18-year-old Scottsville resident in connection with an armed robbery on the 1000 block of 1st Street South on January 22. Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. after the victim reported being robbed at gunpoint during a prearranged firearm sale. According to police, the suspect fled on foot to a nearby apartment building where they located and arrested him without incident. A search of the apartment resulted in the recovery of two firearms. The suspect, identified as Kelon McCory Washington, has been charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
