CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The application process for the open Albemarle School Board seat is over with seven applications, and Chair Kate Acuff says they expect to seat that interim member at the end of the month. The new member will represent the Rio District whose representative, Chuck Pace, passed away last month just after being elected.

Acuff tells WINA Morning News the board will hold a special meeting next Thursday night at the County Office Building to interview the seven. At the January 23 regular meeting, they’ll have a public hearing, go into closed session to make the selection, and then announce that person right after. That person will sit for their first school board meeting February 13.
