Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Dashad Cooper, 2023 City Council candidate and Vice Chair of the Charlottesville Democratic Committee, is running for the Charlottesville School Board.

He made his announcement on Friday, January 3, 2024. In it, he said his three primary goals are building strong readers, boosting attendance and supporting union membership.

“I believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and inclusive education system” he said. “By focusing on these priorities, we can strengthen our schools, boost morale, and elevate our students to achieve their full potential.”

He went on to say he looks forward to campaigning and working with the community to make a lasting difference.
