CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Some area school systems may be impacted by Monday morning’s inclement weather while some are not at this time. One schools system has already extended its winter break by one day. Culpeper County Schools were supposed to return students to school Tuesday after a Monday teacher workday. Culpeper County Schools are now closed completely Monday, and the teacher workday has been moved to Tuesday, and students return to school Wednesday.
Charlottesville, Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, and Orange County schools are not slated to come back from Winter Break until Tuesday, and as of early Friday afternoon there were no announcements from them. Nelson and Louisa County schools are not scheduled to return from Winter Break until Wednesday.
Five area school systems are slated to return from Winter Break Monday, so parents, teachers, and staff need to keep an eye on weather announcements. Greene, Madison, Waynesboro, Augusta, and Staunton schools are supposed to return from Winter Break Monday and no announcements have come from them at this time.
