CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia football has landed commitments from two quarterbacks, with one reportedly still to visit as they look to fill a void left by last season’s starting quarterback Anthony Colandrea entering the portal, and veteran Tony Muskett using up his eligibility. Several sources say North Texas quarterback Chandler Morris, who with one year of eligibility left, threw last season for more nearly 3800 yards and 31 touchdowns… top-5 in the NCAA in both categories. Though Morris is a Texas native who went to Oklahoma and TCU before landing last season at North Texas, his dad is Chad Morris who coached with Tony Elliott at Clemson from 2011-to-2014.
This the day after the Hoos signed Nebraska-transfer freshman quarterback Daniel Kaelin, a highly-touted quarterback who got stuck behind fellow freshman Dylan Raiola who was the top quarterback recruit in the nation last year. The Hoos still reportedly are scheduled for a visit from transferring Maryland quarterback Billy Edwards, who’s also looking at Michigan and Wisconsin.
