RICHMOND, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Triple-A’s year-end holiday travel period is truly a 12 days of Christmas with the clock starting Saturday, December 21 through Wednesday, January 1. Triple-A MidAtlantic’s Morgan Dean expects 119-million Americans to travel 50-miles or more… 90-percent of them, or 107-million, traveling by car. That falls short of 2019’s record on the roads, but the overall number surpasses the all-time high that year… and there will be record air travel of of 7.85-million. That’s despite domestic flights 4% more expensive, and international flights 13% more expensive than last year.
Four of the top-five domestic destinations are in Florida; as well as Anaheim; Vegas; Honolulu; Charleston, SC; New Orleans; and New York.
