RICHMOND, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The State Board of Elections has certified the results of the Nov. 5, 2024, general election after a unanimous vote. Official results are now posted on the Department of Elections’ website.

Before certification, local electoral boards and the Virginia Department of Elections verified the results. In compliance with Virginia law, two risk-limiting audits (RLAs) were conducted. House District 1 was selected for the audits, which included a 10 percent risk limit.

The Senate RLA was held on Nov. 20, involving 1,878 ballots, while the House District 1 RLA on Nov. 21 reviewed 137,627 ballots from 19 randomly selected batches. Both audits met the required risk limits.

A full audit report will be presented to the Board in January 2025.
