GREENSBORO, NC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Atlantic Coast Conference is issuing institutional fines and public reprimand to both Virginia and Virginia Tech… and to North Carolina and North Carolina State… for scuffles that happened respectively before and after their Saturday games. Some UVA players got into a scuffle with some Virginia Tech players as the Hoos walked through the Lane Stadium field to their locker room upon arrival Saturday afternoon. After North Carolina State’s win over North Carolina in Chapel Hill Saturday, both teams brawled after a State player tried to plant a flag he took from a cheerleader onto the 50-yard line Tarheels’ logo at Keenan Stadium. The ACC did not specify how much any of the schools are fined, and said they will have no further comment on the matter.
