Denwood Theodore Milby, 91, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died November 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, TT and Jeanette Carter Milby, sister Gloria Milby Hodge, brothers Wayne and David Milby and his son Mark Denwood Milby. Denny is survived by his wife of 69 years Juanita, daughter Patricia Shifflett (Mike) of Axton, son Joseph (Lindsay) of Charlottesville, six grandchildren, Rachel Catoe (John), Sarah McMillan (Brandon), Walker, Brooke, Brandon & Tyler and 7 great grandchildren, Emma, Elan, Evan & Emry Catoe, Lane & Megan McMillan and Harper Evans. Born September 30, 1933 in King William County Virginia. Denny graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS (1955) and a MS (1962) in Architectural Engineering. He served as a Lieutenant in the Army Corp of Engineers for two years during the Korean conflict and six years in the reserves. Denny was retired from Dunbar, Milby, Williams, Pittman & Vaughan Consulting Structural Engineers where he was a Professional Engineer for 50 years. He was active in Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Broadus Memorial Baptist Church now Pantops Community Church, serving in various positions including, Trustee, Deacon (Chairman) Sunday School Teacher, Choir member and on many committees.
