NELLYSFORD, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Tommy Stafford of blueridgelife.com reports that a fire in the early morning hours of Saturday November 16th, completely destroyed the special events center owned by Three Notch’d Brewery in Nellysford, VA which is in Nelson County. The special events center was adjacent to the restaurant and the brewery which is frequented by residents of Charlottesville and Albemarle. Wintergreen Fire and Rescue Chief Curtis Sheets gave the following quote to Tommy Stafford of blueridgelife.com – “A person driving by on Route 151 around 2:30 this morning saw the blaze and called it in. Units from all over the area responded since there’s no fire hydrant on site, we used water from their pumpers.” The fire is currently under investigation.
Founder of Three Notch’d Scott Roth gave the following quote to CBS19 News: “The barn is made of all wood, so it burned pretty quickly down to the ground,” Roth said. “It was very well contained in that area. Fortunately, no one was there because it was in the middle of the night. We give some credit to the local fire department and whoever called it in at 2:30 in the morning because I think them getting there as quickly as they did probably saved our tent and potentially some other buildings on that property.”
