Baltimore, MD (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- Led by Junior guard Isaac McNeely’s stellar shooting performance going 8-9 from the field with 23 points, the Virginia Men’s Basketball team dominated Big East power Villanova for the majority of the game leading by as many as 17 points multiple times in the second half.  Virginia was once again impressive offensively shooting 51 percent from the field and 56 percent from the 3 point line.  McNeely was special from behind the arc connecting on all six of his attempts and at one point Virginia his seven consecutive threes in the midst of a 21-5 run.  Speaking to Jimmy Miller on the WINA Virginia Sports Network after the game, Head Coach Ron Sanchez offered the following comments: “I think they played inspired basketball.  I think they’re playing for one another, and it’s great to see young men in this space just enjoying that, just being a college basketball player in that atmosphere. This is the first look at Virginia basketball for the season on the national stage since the NCAA tournament, and they performed well. I’m just happy for them. They deserve that.”

Virginia will return to action on Thursday of this week when they play No. 11 Tennessee at the Baha Mar Hoops Championships in Nassau, Bahamas,  Tipoff is set for 9:30 p.m. with coverage beginning at 8:30 p.m.
