The Virginia Film Festival wrapped up its 37th annual celebration with five days of screenings, special guests, and a lineup of 138 films. This year’s event drew over 20,000 attendees, with multiple sold-out screenings.

Among the highlights was the premiere of Anora, featuring actor Mikey Madison, who accepted the VAFF Achievement in Acting Award. Festival guests also included Matthew Modine, attending for the 40th anniversary of Birdy, and Lamorne Morris, who received the Virtuoso Award for his work in Saturday Night. The documentary Luther: Never Too Much won the Best Documentary Feature.

VAFF’s Executive Director Jody Kielbasa thanked the community for its support, noting the high turnout and enthusiastic engagement. Artistic Director Ilya Tovbis also praised the festival’s ability to bring together a wide range of filmmakers and audiences for meaningful conversations around film.
