CULPEPER — U.S. 250 (Ivy Road) remains closed to traffic between the U.S. 250 Bypass and the Charlottesville west city limits due to a pipe failure that damaged the roadway. Work to repair the pipe and repave the road will continue overnight. The Virginia Department of Transportation estimates the repairs will take until Saturday morning; the road will remain closed until that work is done.
During the closure motorists should use alternate routes to travel between the U.S.250 Bypass and the City of Charlottesville. The U.S. 29 northbound off ramp onto Ivy Road will be closed until the work is complete. VDOT is coordinating traffic signal timing along the Ivy Road corridor with the city to move traffic as efficiently as possible during the closure.
Updates on Culpeper District activities are on the district’s Facebook page and the district’s Twitter account, @VaDOTCulp.
