CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville City Schools has released four draft proposals for new elementary school attendance zones. These drafts, accessible on the district’s rezoning website, are designed to redistribute students across six schools: Burnley-Moran, Greenbrier, Jackson-Via, Johnson, Summit, and Trailblazer. According to the district, the drafts could impact 14-28% of students in the elementary system.

Upcoming Public Meetings

The following in-person meetings are open to the public:

  • Greenbrier Elementary – October 28, 5-7 p.m.
  • Jackson-Via Elementary – October 29, 4-6 p.m.
  • Summit Elementary – October 30, 5-7 p.m.

For virtual participation, a Zoom meeting is scheduled for:

  • November 6 – Noon and 6 p.m.
