CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – As leaves start coloring and falling, Charlottesville Public Works announces they’ll begin their leaf collection services Monday, November 4. Each neighborhood will be visited by leaf vacuum trucks three times during the season on a set rotating schedule. Residents can sign up for text alerts for reminders of when their collection week is coming up. Residents should rake their leaves as close to curbside as possible without blocking the travel way for vehicles, bikes, or pedestrians. On-street parking areas can be used for the leaves. The leaves must be unbagged and there are graphics on the city public works website with four examples of where to pile them. There will also be a drop-off location for residents on Saturdays.
