ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire on Friday evening in the 2300 block of Wakefield Road. Crews were called to the scene around 5:05 p.m. and arrived about seven minutes later to find smoke coming from the roof.
Two people were home when the fire broke out but were able to get out safely. No injuries were reported, though two cats are still missing.
The Red Cross is providing support to the residents who were displaced.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office.
