Joan “Jody” Weinberg Clements, a lifelong resident of Charlottesville, passed away on September 27, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Sol and Grace Weinberg. Jody was a graduate of Lane High School and Stephens College in Colombia, MO. Returning home after college, she worked for WINA, Citizens Bank , and the University of Virginia Hospital. Jody married Alvin R. Clements in 1951, and they enjoyed a long and fulfilling marriage until his passing in 2015. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church from an early age later serving on the alter guild and continuing to attend services there well into her golden years.

Above all, Jody cared for her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Hatcher (Allan) of Charlottesville and a son, Paul Clements (Nancy) of Fairfax Station. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Amy Haggard, Drew Haggard, Jeff Haggard, Kristen Griggs (Mike) and Daniel Clements (Colleen) as well as her great grandchildren, Chloe, Emma, Riley, Nolan and Carson. Jody ‘s sister, Ethel Ann Tebell, predeceased her in 2015.

Jody had wide ranging interests including travel, watching UVA sports and playing bridge, golf and tennis with her many friends. She was the center of countless family dinners and celebrations leaving her family with wonderful memories of good times.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Christ Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
