Hilda Washington-Lee, age 67, passed away peacefully at Martha Jefferson Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. As the eldest sister of ten, Hilda was a pillar of strength and support for her family, embodying the spirit of resilience and compassion.

With over 15 years of experience as a social worker, Hilda tirelessly advocated for children in need. Recognizing the limitations of the system, she took it upon herself to foster numerous children, ultimately adopting several into her warm and loving home. Her selfless commitment to providing a nurturing environment changed countless lives and inspired those around her.

In addition to her work in social services, Hilda was a passionate entrepreneur. She ran a successful catering business and operated a daycare from her home, where she created a loving and engaging space for children. Known for her skills in the kitchen, Hilda delighted friends and family with her incredible meals, welcoming all who came by with open arms and a plate full of love.

Hilda’s generous spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed. She leaves behind her beloved children, nieces and nephews, siblings, cousins, and a vast network of other family and friends who will always cherish her memory.

Mildred Ruth Dunstan (née Zube), born April 23, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on September 25, 2024 in Culpeper, Virginia. Her three loving children, Edmund Fleetwood Dunstan III “Woody,” Caroline Dunstan Smeltz, and Ethan Andrew Dunstan kept her company to the end. “Millie” was predeceased by her devoted husband, Edmund Fleetwood Dunstan, Jr. “Ted,” her parents Helen Filo Zube and Martin M. Zube, and her two sisters, Barbara and Helen. In addition to her children and their spouses, Augusta Harrison Dunstan, Ramon Augustus Smeltz, and Joanne Shirley Dunstan, Millie left behind four adoring grandchildren, Millicent Grace Dunstan (27), Guenevere Rose Dunstan (24), Andrew Fleetwood Dunstan (24), and Harrison Fleetwood Dunstan (18).
