Joanne B. Yuhn from Charlottesville, Va., died peacefully surrounded by family, friends and loyal caregivers on Monday, Sept 2, 2024. Joanne received her last rights by Fr. Joseph Inadano from Incarnation Catholic Church prior to her passing and has now ascended to heaven.

Born to Monroe & Betty Marshall of Warren, Pa. on October 11, 1937, she received an undergraduate degree from Villa Maria College and a master’s degree in library sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.

She was married to LTC John Thomas Yuhn of Baltimore, Md. at St. Joseph’s Church in Warren, Pa. on July 22, 1961, and were fortunate to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary together before each other’s passing.

Joanne B. Yuhn is survived by 2 children (Michael W. Yuhn & Theresa L. Yuhn of Troy, Va.), in addition to her loving brother Craig Marshall and his wife Mary Kay. She is also survived by her granddaughter Haylie Bast and two great grandchildren.

Her professional career included several years of teaching elementary school, religious education and library sciences before retiring. Joanne loved traveling all over the world, book clubs, concerts, church, baking, playing piano, big band music and spending quality time with her family.

She was the most selfless, generous, honorable and loving mother/wife this world will ever know. She will be sorely missed and loved forever. A special thanks to all her formal caregivers (Vina Falzone, Jasmin Fuentes & Iris Alberto), Shannon Miller, NP and Heartland Hospice for allowing her final days to be comfortable at home surrounded by family.
