ALBEMARLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) and Albemarle County Fire Rescue (ACFR) responded to an incident near Seminole Trail and Myers Drive on the afternoon of September 11. The call came in at approximately 3:50 p.m., with authorities arriving shortly after.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries inflicted by a machete.

The victim was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center and is now reported to be in stable condition.

ACPD has charged Frank D. Baldwin, a 51-year-old from Charlottesville, with felony malicious wounding in connection with the incident.

Baldwin is currently being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail (ACRJ).

Police stress that there is no current threat to the public, and the investigation is ongoing as of the morning of September 12.
