Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – In a recent interview, Simon Davidson of Charlottesville 29, turned the focus to Zocalo, a beloved Charlottesville restaurant that’s been at the heart of the downtown mall for over 20 years. Zocalo, known for its consistent, top-notch execution, has recently changed hands for the first time. The new owner, Will Miguel from Mexico City, has already begun making subtle changes, including introducing a tapas small plate menu and bringing back brunch.

Miguel is committed to honoring the restaurant’s legacy while also restoring what he calls “the glory of Zocalo.” Reflecting on the transition, Davidson noted, “Zocalo Has created so many memories for so many people for so long and he says he wants to honor those past memories and then create new ones for new people. ” The excitement around this new chapter for Zocalo is palpable as the restaurant continues to be a staple of Charlottesville’s food scene, attracting both locals and visitors.
