Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Dr. Martin Katz, a physician with Downtown Family Health, shared his plan to transition from primary care into a more consultative role focused on preventative medicine. Katz discussed how modern healthcare is often more reactive than preventive, stating, “ Having all these things currently that we have to do… for insurance and government purposes, I feel like are getting away from ultimately practicing a preventive model, a healthcare model.”
He aims to adopt a holistic approach, helping patients understand their health risks and improve their quality of life through advanced metabolic testing and body composition analysis. Katz highlighted his vision, explaining, “I’ll be getting body composition… to understand if somebody can be thin but fat… I’ll be doing metabolic testing to help understand, are they burning fat? Are they burning sugar?”
Katz will launch his new practice, Advanced Wellness and Longevity, in the coming weeks, offering a comprehensive health consultancy service.
