Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) –Residents of the Fry’s Spring neighborhood continue to face significant mail delivery delays, a problem that has persisted since April. Local Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine have publicly addressed these issues, pressing the U.S. Postal Service for solutions.

Jeanne Chase, a Fry’s Spring resident, highlighted the ongoing frustrations during an interview, explaining, “We have a lot of first-class mail that has not been delivered, not only to our house but to some surrounding neighbors as well.”  Chase also expressed concerns over the absence of a reliable backup when their regular mail carrier is unavailable, leading to long delays and undelivered mail.

The situation is further complicated by the approaching election season, with Chase noting, “Ballots are going to be sent out to people and then mailed back. That is a critical problem if those deliveries don’t happen in a timely manner.” The lack of timely mail delivery could have significant implications for local residents, particularly with important documents such as bills and ballots at stake.

Another resident recently emailed Cville Right Now that he’d received mail only once in a three week period. There’s also a Belmont resident who’s emailed saying they’re having intermittent issues there.

Residents have reached out to elected officials for assistance, but as of now, the issues remain unresolved.
