Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): VDOT has announced that considering the Labor Day Holiday they will be lifting many lane closures in construction zones along the thoroughfares of Virginia.
The state-wide lifting of the closures will last from Friday, August 30th, until Tuesday afternoon, September 3rd.
For the Charlottesville area, that means no road crews on I-64 or U.S. 29 in both the city and Albermarle County.
Additionally, VDOT communications specialist Sharon Ketcham told WINA that though the lane closure does not include secondary roads, there will be no road crews on Hydraulic Road through the Labor Day Holiday, and normal operations will resume on Tuesday at noon.
