Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Abbey Stumpf, Director of Communications for Albemarle County, addressed key changes coming to the community on WINA Morning News. She touched on the significant traffic pattern change at the intersection of Hydraulic Road and Route 29, set to take effect Monday (8/26). Stumpf noted, “A big thing is patience. Let’s all be patient, we are all busy, we all have somewhere to be,” stressing the importance of calmness as residents adjust to the new flow.
In addition to the traffic update, Stumpf previewed the upcoming Albemarle County Board of Supervisors meeting, where ranked-choice voting will be a central topic. She emphasized that the board is currently in the exploratory phase, with the session aimed at gathering information and considering possible next steps. However, no immediate decisions or actions are anticipated.
Stumpf also mentioned other items on the board’s agenda, including the zoning modernization phase and a strategic plan review. “It’s a report card without the A, B, C, D,” she explained, highlighting the importance of assessing county goals and metrics.
