ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County emergency services responded to 29 storm-related calls between 7 p.m. on August 8 and 6 a.m. on August 9 due to Tropical Storm Debby. These included 15 calls for downed trees, four transformer fires, three for downed power lines, two water rescues, two fire alarms, two motor vehicle crashes, and one public service call.

While there were no major road closures, several secondary roads were impacted by flooding and downed trees and power lines.

The most significant incident occurred at Misty Mountain Campground, where 12 people and several pets were safely rescued from floodwaters.

Mint Springs Valley Park is also closed due to a failed culvert.
