Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Supervisor Ann Mallek joined Charlottesville Right Now to discuss key development projects within the county, providing insights into the area’s growth and upcoming plans.
Mallek, who represents the Whitehall district, spoke in detail about the newly approved rezoning for the Granger development on Stribling Avenue. She described the project as “A lovely balance of several, three or four different housing types, from single-family to condos to rental units to for-purchase, English basement units.” The development will span 69 acres and include 203 housing units in the proposal, with plans for community trails and open spaces as well.
Mallek also touched on the long-awaited Eastern Avenue project in Crozet, which aims to improve local transportation links. Mallek highlighted the importance of this project for Crozet’s growing population and noted the potential for expedited construction under a public-private partnership.
Mallek offered listeners a glimpse into Albemarle County’s development plans, showcasing efforts to accommodate growth while enhancing community infrastructure.
