RICHMOND (WINA) – Although the big $1.725-billion Powerball jackpot, the 2nd-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history, was not won here, the Virginia Lottery’s John Hagerty says Virginians did pretty well in Wednesday night’s drawing. Hagerty says more than 145,000 Virginians won some sort of prize, including a $1-million winning ticket sold on the Virginia Lottery app from someone in Alexandria. This person matched the first five numbers, but missed on the Powerball.

Hagerty says five tickets are $50,000 winners. They were purchased at:

  • Sheetz, 13591 Genito Road, Midlothian,
  • Wegmans, 12501 Stone Village Way, Midlothian,
  • Sunoco, 1899 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg,
  • 7-Eleven, 120 North George Washington Highway, Chesapeake,
  • 7-Eleven, 23815 South Wakefield Street, Arlington
