CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): Virginia kicker Will Bettridge has been named to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. Named after Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from the University of Florida, the Wuerffel Trophy is the premier award for community service among Football Bowl Subdivision student-athletes.  

An active member in the Charlottesville community, Bettridge has volunteered with numerous elementary schools in the Charlottesville area, including Johnson Elementary, Greer Elementary and Mountain View Elementary. He has also dedicated time to visiting the UVA Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. In 2023, Bettridge attended the Unity Walk, held in Charlottesville and organized by UVA Athletics. 

 The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Presentation Gala will take place Feb. 1, 2025, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
