ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority has announced that the Ivy Material Utilization Center on Dick Woods Road has been renamed the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center. The renamed facility continues to operate various programs including municipal refuse and construction debris transfer, a recycling convenience center for paper, plastics, metals, oil, and tires, composting, and vegetative debris and mulch grinding.
A baling facility is also planned to be built at the site in the near future. Bill Mawyer, the Executive Director of the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority, stated, “We continue to grow and improve the solid waste disposal and recycling programs we offer at the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center.
