CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Residents in a townhouse in the 1200 block of Oak Hill drive escaped a fire, but have had to find someplace else to live. Albemarle County firefighters were dispatched around 4:30 and arrived a short time later to find fire visible from the 2nd-story of one of six townhouses in the building. All the residents got out, but firefighters did rescue a dog from the unit.
Firefighters used aggressive fire suppression tactics that were able to keep the fire from spreading to any adjacent homes.
No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
