ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – At approximately 3:56 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, career and volunteer units from Albemarle County were dispatched to the report of a fire in a residential structure in the 5100 block of Browns Gap Turnpike.
The first arriving units arrived 21 minutes after dispatch to discover smoke and flames in a crawlspace under the single-story home. Crews extinguished the fire by applying water through the floorboards located above the crawlspace.
