Robin Vincent Witcher, 69, of Richmond, Virginia was called home to his Lord on July 9th, 2024 at Westport Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Richmond, Virginia. Robin was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on April 26, 1955, the 5th of eleven children of the late Kathryn and Donald Witcher Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Boyd Witcher and Donald Witcher Jr., and sisters Sabra Witcher and Stephanie Witcher.

Robin attended Albemarle High School before boldly joining the U.S. Army at just 16 years old, determined to make a difference in the world. Robin was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U. S. Army 1st Division Artillery Piece out of Nuremberg, Germany, which was know as Big Red 1 Division, the most dominate brigade in Vietnam. Robin had a career as a construction worker, with his specialty being Iron Work. Robin worked on numerous projects in Washington, DC and Maryland such as Gallery Place, the Baltimore Washington Parkway, Baltimore Washington International Airport, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Camden Yards. While living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he helped construct the Eagles Stadium and bridges in the Poconos. Robin would proudly announce that he helped build these landmarks and centers of urban bustle.

Robin was very committed to his children, and loved them deeply. Robin enjoyed riding his scooter bike around town in Richmond. He enjoyed watching old Western television shows and wrestling. Robin had a gentle soul and a bright smile, and could make a friend of anyone he met, and yet he was also a Taurus at heart. Robin was special to his family, truly a gem to those who loved him. Robin’s huge heart and sweet, strong spirit defied his slight frame.

Robin is survived by daughters Robin Varnes (Clint) of Belton, TX and Jyia’Robin Lucille Witcher, and son Donald Vincent Witcher of Richmond, VA; Granddaughter Zoe Varnes; Brothers Gary Witcher of Charlottesville, VA and Stephen Witcher of Gaithersburg, MD; Sisters Gilda Santangelo of Conway, SC, Bridget Morris of Charlottesville, VA, Michelle Witcher of Chicago, IL, and Kimberly Elliott (Antoinne) of Silver Spring, MD; Aunts Marie Mickens of Charlottesville, VA and Viola Witcher of Oldsmare, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
