CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – City Council has set six work sessions through the next month-and-a-half to work on the new zoning ordinance the public sounded off to the Planning Commission last week. Even before speakers sounded off at the “matters from the public” to City Council Monday night, affordable housing is a large cog in the new ordinance.
Neighborhood Development Services Director James Freas (freeze) told Council they could expect to have a Planning Commission-approved ordinance October 10… with topics prioritized for Councilors to discuss. Meanwhile, Councilors will begin discussing topics they see through minutes of last week’s meeting submitted Monday night to start work session meetings September 27 at 5pm, likely at CitySpace.
Subsequent meeting dates are Tuesday, October 3 at 6pm; Wednesday, October 11 at 6pm; Wednesday, October 25 at 6pm; Wednesday, November 1 at 6pm; and Thursday, November 9 at 6pm.
