CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville 29’s Simon Davidson shared exciting updates on two new restaurants in a recent studio interview. Davidson discussed the latest venture by Kitty Ashi, Tangerines Kitchen, which marks her fifth restaurant in Charlottesville. Tangerines Kitchen offers an eclectic mix of American breakfast and brunch alongside Thai dinners. Tangerines Kitchen is located at 32 Mill Creek Dr.
Ashi’s other restaurants are Monsoon Siam, Pineapples Thai Kitchen, Maple Pine and Coconut Thai Kitchen. Davidson highlighted Ashi’s innovative approach to each, saying, “What I think is cool is that there’s some overlap, but each one is very distinct.”
He also introduced Runi’s Famous Kebab, a new Afghan restaurant by Yusuf, originally from Afghanistan, is fulfilling his dream of bringing his homeland’s cuisine to Charlottesville. Davidson praised the food, noting, “I had a really, really great meal.” Runi’s Famous Kebab is located at 1136 Emmet St.
Both establishments exemplify the diverse and rich culinary scene in Charlottesville, driven by passionate individuals from various backgrounds.
